Our Story

February 19, 2021. It was a dark and stormy night. No, literally, it was snowing. And it was February, so it was dark by 5pm. Despite the weather, Christine and Dave agreed to meet at a brewery for some beers, after Dave clarified that his name was in fact Dave, not Save. Christine was so nervous she almost banged a u-ey to get back on the highway at the Braintree split to go home (true story). But, luckily she didn’t and her fears quickly dissipated upon meeting Dave in person.

They got to talking and realized they had a lot in common. At one point, Dave sheepishly mentioned his family’s “weird Disney timeshare.” Christine, herself already a member of the Disney Vacation Club, knew in that moment Dave was it. In fact, she told him that night she was going to marry him. They stayed their entire allotted time at the brewery. Wanting to extend the evening, they attempted to get dinner at several nearby restaurants; however, they were beginning to close early due to the snow. As luck would have it, a nearby Davio’s remained open, so they were able to chat for several more hours.

The following day, Dave had plans to have lunch with his friends, but really wanted to see Christine again before he had to work that night. So, they met up and walked around the South Shore Plaza like teenagers (again, options for socializing were limited at the time). Also when they took their first picture together (above) - yes, in the clearance section at DSW. Nothing says budding romance like browsing markdown shoes after you met on Facebook Dating!

Within a week, they were officially dating. Soon enough, trips to the “weird Disney timeshare” were planned.

In 2022, they adopted Bandit and got an apartment together.

In January, 2024, Christine and Dave traveled to Disney World, followed by a Disney Cruise. It was Dave’s first-ever cruise. He spent most of it being various shades of green (we’ll spare you the details).

On the morning of January 24, Christine was up bright and early, ready to go to Serenity Bay on Castaway Cay, her favorite beach. Dave was… unwell. But, they got to the beach eventually. Dave really wanted to take a picture, which in retrospect was very odd. As luck would have it, Nemo, a photographer from the ship was wandering the beach. Cheesy vacation photos were snapped.

As Nemo was about to swim away (no really, his name was Nemo), Dave got down on one knee and asked Christine to marry him.
